Fostering Service Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join a fostering agency in the south east of England. Our client is part of an award winning national fostering agency and social enterprise.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced fostering service manager who will inspire and lead a team of dedicated, skilled staff and carers who are passionate about providing children and young people with the opportunity to flourish and fulfil their true potential.

This role will be instrumental in developing and delivering the agency’s business plan and will help shape, influence, and implement the future growth and development of the fostering service.

The person appointed will be the Ofsted Registered Manager and will be accountable for the service meeting all regulatory requirements and leading in the Service’s ambition to move from a GOOD to OUTSTANDING Ofsted judgement for this Fostering Service.

You will have demonstrable experience or knowledge of working in a commercial environment within a childcare setting, with a strong commitment to turning around the lives of the children and young people with whom we work.

Experience in resource and performance management is essential and you will need to have a good knowledge of the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards. The person appointed will need to be able to provide an operational setting which is practice based but also commercially sensitive and financially viable.

There are exciting challenges and opportunities for the new service manager as the organisation continues to develop and improve its services.

The service manager will be working with a team who are driven and ambitious to continually improve the service they provide to children and foster carers. They will have a good deal of autonomy to shape the way the service is planned and delivered both locally and more widely as part of the national Operational Management Group.

To be considered for the post you will need to have experience of working in a management position within a fostering service, either in an independent, voluntary or local authority setting.

You will need to hold a current Social Work England registration and either hold a Level 5 in Leadership and Management qualification or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this within the first year of appointment.

You will be required to travel extensively in the area covered by this service and occasionally beyond for meetings and other events in your role.

You will receive:
• £48,050 to £57,550 salary plus on call allowance
