Children's Home Registered Manager

Responsibilities will include ensuring the home operates within the Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) and paying attention to detail to ensure the home is judged as ‘good ‘or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

The post holder will lead the Regulation 44 monitoring visits and regulatory inspections from Ofsted, as well as supporting staff to contribute to the process.

The registered manager must go above and beyond for the children and young people in the setting.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the home is managed in accordance with the its statement of purpose
  • Team management, including recruitment, interviewing and vetting of new staff members
  • Attend professional meetings
  • Protect and safeguard the young people within the home
  • Take responsibility for the matching process with the responsible individual
  • Ensure that audits are completed
  • Rota management
  • Encouraging the use of therapeutic models in the home

 

This role requires appropriate qualifications such as Level 5 Children Leadership and Management. The successful applicant will have experience of managing a children’s residential home and working with young people who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. They must also be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of SCIF.
